Sara Ali Khan is gearing up for her grand Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath. While everybody is looking forward to what Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan's daughter has to offer it seems like the filmmakers who are keen on signing the actress for their projects will have to wait a little longer. We told you earlier that even before the release of her debut film Kedarnath, Sara was already approached by Anushka Sharma's production house Clean Slate Films to star in their next venture.
While Sara was looking forward to this one, a report in DNA suggests that the actress won't be doing the film any longer, thanks to Kedarnath's filmmaker Abhishek (Gattu).
A source told the daily, “Sara’s debut film, Kedarnath will release in December next year. Abhishek Kapoor, who is directing the film, doesn’t want her to sign any other film as he feels that will distract her from her first movie outing. The team will finish shooting the film around June next year and then, there’s a lot of CGI work that needs to be done." He further revealed, "Gattu wants Sara to concentrate completely on Kedarnath till the release of the film. Since Prernaa is the common link, the team mutually decided that Sara won’t be doing Anushka’s film anymore. But this development happened after a bit of an internal clash.”
And while Abhishek wants Sara to concentrate on her debut film, mum Amrita isn't quite happy with his decision. The veteran actress who has been keenly looking into every film Sara is doing feels that it is okay for her daughter to sign her next film while she is shooting for Kedarnath. “Amrita is extremely involved in her daughter’s career and she doesn’t agree with Abhishek’s thinking. She feels it’s okay for her to sign another project while shooting for Kedarnath, and the two have been discussing and arguing over this.”
While not much was known about the project the source revealed that the film was a woman-centric flick with a twist fo thriller. The film was also tentatively titled Bulbul. “It’s a woman-centric drama, which also has a thriller element to it." Talking about Bulbul he said, "It has been tentatively titled Bulbul and revolves around the character that was offered to Sara. The newcomer had loved the script and was keen to be a part of the project. Unfortunately, that couldn’t happen.”
If Sara would be a part of Bulbul, then it would be the fourth film from Clean Slate Films and for the first time, it wouldn't feature Anushka Sharma.
The production house after NH10 and Phillauri is now gearing up for the release of Pari starring Anushka Sharma. the trailer for the film is yet to release and going by the looks of the poster it looks like Anushka is all set to treat her fans with another gritty drama in 2018.
